According to a Navigator poll published this week, 78 percent of Americans said they encounter misinformation very or somewhat often, including 76 percent of Democrats and 81 percent of Republicans. The most frequently cited source of misinformation was Facebook, with 50 percent of respondents saying they commonly encountered misinformation there, followed by Fox News at 42 percent. Local newspapers had the lowest share of respondents saying they encountered misinformation there, at only 7 percent.
