A majority of Americans support President Joe Biden’s massive social spending package when it’s presented as a way to help families and improve medical coverage, according to a new Navigator poll.
A Navigator poll released Friday found 62 percent of registered voters support Biden’s “Build Back Better” agenda when it’s described as a $3.5 trillion package to provide family and medical leave, fund universal prekindergarten, expand Medicare coverage and lower the cost of drug prices.

Another poll cites numbers from two Democratic firms. The firms, Data for Progress, and Navigator Research, both suggested that 60% of the people polled were supportive of Biden’s plans.

A Navigator Research poll taken in August showed that the economic aspects of the administration’s agenda are supported by sizable groups of independents and Republican voters.
In a Navigator Research survey of registered voters, the share of independent voters and Republicans who believe Biden is “doing enough” to combat the pandemic has risen 5 points since Aug. 30.
This package will enable small businesses to be more competitive, help their workers, and strengthen communities. Most importantly, an overwhelming majority of Americans support it. A recent Navigator Research poll found that 70% of the country believe it should be passed urgently.
A Navigator poll in late August asked voters to choose between an anti-immigrant position—“letting in mass numbers of Afghan refugees will only make our country less safe and divide us even more”—and the argument that we had “a moral duty to take in Afghan refugees” because they “risked their lives to help keep us safe.”

“Raising taxes on the wealthy and big corporations is not just popular across the country, but also in battleground districts,” said Bryan Bennett, senior director of polling analytics at the Hub Project and an adviser to the left-leaning polling firm Navigator Research.
“According to recent data from the Democratic-oriented Navigator Research, more Americans overall, including among independents and Hispanics, now believe violent crime is a ‘major crisis’ than believe that about the coronavirus pandemic or any other area of concern,” he added.
